Senior Backend Engineer

Software engineering & solution design

• Design, build and evolve the backend capabilities that power MYNT, taking work from technical design through implementation and delivery.
• Work across services, APIs, data and integrations, making practical technical choices that keep the platform reliable and straightforward to evolve.
• Contribute to solution design and implementation across the squad’s areas of responsibility, considering the wider platform and downstream impact of changes.
• Take part in code reviews and technical discussions, helping maintain a consistent and sustainable engineering approach across the squad.
• Turn product needs into well-considered technical solutions, working through ambiguity and making sensible trade-offs where needed.
  
  

Ownership, quality & production

• Take responsibility for the behaviour of delivered solutions in production and help ensure issues are followed through to a satisfactory resolution.
• Contribute to the day-to-day health of the platform by investigating incidents, recurring issues and areas where reliability or operability can be improved.
• Support the squad’s delivery and operational practices, including releases, deployment processes, observability and production diagnostics.
• Look for opportunities to improve the existing platform, reduce technical debt and simplify or automate recurring work.
  
  

Collaboration

• Work as an active member of the squad, collaborating with Product, the Tech Lead and other engineers from idea through to delivery.
• Work constructively with other squads and disciplines when changes or issues cross team and service boundaries.
• Contribute to the wider engineering culture by sharing context and knowledge, giving useful feedback and helping teammates succeed.
